Policies

Appointments may be cancelled without charge up to 24 hours before the appointment's scheduled start time. If you cancel after the 24 hour period, I reserve the right to charge your credit card for 50% of the treatment price if I am unable to fill that appointment time. If you reschedule your appointment, you will not be charged a cancellation fee, however, you are only permitted to reschedule the appointment once. If you cannot make it to the rescheduled appointment time, you will be charged 100% of the session price.

If you cancel within 4 hours of your appointment time, I reserve the right to charge your credit card for 100% of the session price.

Same-day bookings and cancellations will be charged 100% of the session price.

If you arrive for your scheduled appointment on time but need to shorten the duration, I reserve the right to charge you for the full price of the originally scheduled session.

If you arrive late for your scheduled appointment time, I will do my best to still accommodate the full session duration. However, if your tardiness makes it impossible to complete the full service, you are still responsible for the full session price.

During snow season and for other weather, illness, or emergencies, I am flexible with my cancellation policy and will determine or waive any fees on a case-by-case basis.

If I need to cancel your appointment with less than 24 hours' notice, your next session will be 50% of the session price.

Your confidentiality will be respected. Your session will remain confidential, as it should be with any healthcare provider. Your file is available only to you and to those with a release form signed by you.

I am not a medical doctor, nurse, physical therapist or counselor. It is outside of the Massage Therapist's scope of practice to diagnose and/or prescribe treatment. I will be happy to work with you within my ability, and can provide you with a form to allow communication with your doctor in cases where that would be helpful.

If you are under the influence of alcohol or drugs, massage could be contraindicated. It is your responsibility to arrive in a state of mind and body safe for receiving massage. BodyWise Therapeutic Massage will not be held responsible if you have an adverse reaction to massage while under the influence if you fail to disclose drug and/or alcohol use, or if you fail to disclose a condition which contraindicates massage therapy.

Massage Therapy in Virginia is a licensed health care profession. Even joking references to illicit services are taken seriously and will result in termination of the session and legal action.
